Integrity
Is exaggerating the truth a lie?
The Bible states that your "yes" should be "yes"& your "no" should be "no"(Matt.5:37). Sometimes what you have exaggerated might not be sin, but it has a tendency to lead to sin. 1 Thess.5:22 says “...avoid every kind of evil”. (GNT)When you exaggerate the truth, it is no longer truth. It has been compromised.
In exaggerating the truth, lies sometimes get mixed up in it. Satan is the father of lies (Matt. 8:44) and you yield yourself to him whenever you lie. Leviticus 19:11 says “...neither lie one to another.”
